The 2024 CN The CaoLu Cup Teenage Robot Design and Build Invitational Tournament have come to a successful conclusion, and our team, 19581, has achieved a good mark. We advanced to the semifinals with a record of three wins and three losses. In the competition, we won the Control Award.
In the part of hardware, our members made a great progress. In the last year, 2023 CN China FTC Chongqing Qualifier, our hardware design has given us a lot of trouble. Sprocket and conveyor belt structure resulting in an inconsistent scoring rate. In the CaoLu Cup, our members redesign a new robot, we used the same chassis that we used in the Chongqing Qualifier and we installed Mecanum wheels on the chassis which made the machine becomes more flexible. Wheels helped the robot move in any direction and independent encoders provided location navigation for the machine. In addition, we replaced the belt with a robotic arm, which not only reduced the cost of our machine but also decreased its weight. Moreover, in addition to training, our operators are actively involved in the design of the drone. We totally designed three generations of the drone.
In the part of software, our programmer perfectly matched hardware design by using the driven pully to read the shift of the machine. Our calibration system success wowed the judge. We also design many intelligent system to assist the operators during the match. In addition, using the auxiliary tools from FRC is a good way to improve the automatic system design, in the playoff, we used Path Planner for efficiency automatic path setup.
To conclude, we are proud of winning the Control Award. Our efforts were not in vain. In addition to the technical awards, we will continue to work hard to improve our ranking in future competitions as much as possible.
